SHAH ALAM, April 18 — The cash contribution from the Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI Foundation has brought relief to a mother burdened with the medical costs of her child suffering from multiple chronic illnesses.
Hanisah Hamzah, 37, said the RM5,000 assistance she received would be used to purchase medical equipment.
“The cost of this medical equipment has reached RM5,000. I applied for this assistance at the beginning of Ramadan, and I did not expect my application to be approved. This is a blessing for my child,” she said with visible emotion.
The aid, distributed through the zakat wakalah allocation, also benefits various other groups, including students, small traders, and state athletes.
Meanwhile, Nurfarida Dinisha Muhammad, 34, expressed her gratitude after receiving assistance to repair her food stall, which was destroyed in a fire at the end of last year.
“I am just a small-time trader, so receiving this aid means a lot. The application process was also very straightforward,” she said.
National motorcycle racer Emil Idzhar Ezuan, 18, also thanked the foundation for the contribution he received.
The foundation's head Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor said the contributions were given based on the applicants’ needs, including in the fields of education, healthcare, and support for state athletes.
“Today’s recipients include those in need of medicine, those continuing their studies, and athletes who have brought pride to the state,” he said during the aid handover ceremony at Bangunan Darul Ehsan today.
He added that ten individuals received assistance in this round, and MBI aid applications are open throughout the year.
“Applicants only need to email csr@mbiselangor.com.my and include the necessary supporting documents. We will assess each application carefully,” Azri said.
