SHAH ALAM, April 14 — The Second Selangor Plan (RS-2), which will be tabled next year, takes into account the needs and aspirations of grassroots communities, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.
He said the vision and mission of the RS-2 is clear: to ensure every locality in Selangor is competitive, prosperous, and liveable.
“The liveability in every neighbourhood is different and is not just the state’s dream… every area must have its own goal and that is why this project is being implemented.
“This is our motive so the RS-2’s benefits aren’t concentrated in just the central areas, but in every corner of the state. The state government wants the Selangor people to have ownership of the RS-2,” he said during the RS-2 strategic workshop here today.
Previously, Amirudin said the RS-2 will prioritise the Kita Selangor Rail Line, which will improve public transport and rail connectivity north and south of the state.
He added that the implementation of the RS-2 will be monitored by the Implementation and Performance-Monitoring Unit (Siap) — which he announced when tabling the 2022 Selangor State Budget.
“The unit was set up after the RS-1 was tabled and activated, so nearly half of the plan was without meticulous and strong monitoring.
“Thank God, now we have Siap, which will monitor local authorities, land offices and parks so everything in the RS-2 can be planned in more detail,” Amirudin said.
