PUTRAJAYA, April 8 — A total of 39 out of the 150 victims involved in the gas pipeline fire tragedy in Putra Heights, Subang Jaya, on Tuesday (April 1) are still receiving treatment at hospitals and clinics.
The Health Ministry (MOH) said that 17 victims are being treated at government hospitals and 22 others at private facilities, including one in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). 111 patients have been discharged.
“A 21-year-old man is receiving treatment in the ICU of a private facility after sustaining 21 per cent deep partial thickness and full thickness burns to all four limbs, face, neck, and back, with multi-organ dysfunction syndrome,” according to its daily data today.
The MOH added that there are 12 patients at the Putrajaya Hospital, two at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital, and one patient each at the Sultan Idris Shah Hospital in Serdang, the Ampang Hospital, and the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang.
Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Services (MHPSS) activities are also being carried out at two temporary relief centres (PPS), namely at the Putra Heights Mosque Hall and Camelia Hall, as well as at Putrajaya Hospital, with 112 individuals receiving MHPSS interventions.
Relaxation, art expression, and basic psychological first aid skills were among the interventions carried out.
