Yayasan Amal ASAS, KDEBWM show appreciation to cleaning workers in Santunan Ramadan event

SHAH ALAM, March 22 — Yayasan Amal Persatuan Alumni Sekolah Alam Shah (Yayasan Amal ASAS), in collaboration with KDEB Waste Management (KDEBWM), hosted the Santunan Ramadan programme, treating some 200 cleaning sector workers and staff.

KDEBWM managing director Datuk Ramli Mohd Tahir said the programme, sponsored by Iltizam Ekuinas, was not just an act of charity but a heartfelt gesture of appreciation for frontliners who work tirelessly to maintain the country’s cleanliness.

“I would like to thank Yayasan Amal-ASAS and related parties for collaborating with us to express our appreciation to these workers, who are the backbone of cleaning and waste collection in Selangor.

“In Selangor, we have nearly 10,000 workers performing these duties, covering about 2.5 million residential units, including strata and commercial buildings, to serve 7.2 million residents.

"This is a significant challenge for them in ensuring Selangor remains clean,” he said during the Santunan Ramadan programme at the KDEB ICI Sdn Bhd grounds yesterday.

Also present were Yayasan Amal-ASAS chief executive officer Ghazali Bujang and Ekuinas Corporate Communications manager Nolly Ismail.

The ceremony brought together 100 workers, including 60 KDEB ICI staff members: drivers, attendants, jetter drivers, operators, welders, and mechanics, as well as 40 workers from KDEBWM’s Shah Alam branch.

In recognition of the cleaning personnel’s contributions, the programme also featured the distribution of food baskets and duit Raya sponsored by Iltizam Ekuinas and Yayasan Amal-ASAS.
