KUALA LUMPUR, March 19 — A total of 93,094 diploma graduates have been produced by Vocational Colleges (KVs) to date, exceeding the Education Ministry’s (MOE) target of 90,000 under the National Education Blueprint 2013-2025.
Deputy Education Minister Wong Kah Woh said this achievement was complemented by a steady rise in graduate employability.
“The employability rate of KV diploma graduates has continuously grown — 99.16 per cent in 2022, 99.38 per cent in 2023, and 99.91 per cent for the 2024 cohort,” he said during the question-and-answer session in the Dewan Negara today.
He was responding to Senator Datuk Nelson W. Angang, who had requested details on the outcomes of the ministry’s education reform efforts.
Wong added that in terms of technical and vocational education and training (TVET), the MOE has introduced various measures to align TVET programmes with industry needs.
“These efforts include expanding TVET access to different student groups, such as allowing Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia graduates to enrol in diploma programmes at KVs,” he said.
