SHAH ALAM, Feb 27 — State-backed telecommunications infrastructure company SmartSel Sdn Bhd and Edotco Group recently launched the Selangor Connectivity Dashboard, which leverages the Internet of Things data intelligence to strengthen digital infrastructure and promote smart city development in Selangor.

SmartSel, a Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated), or MBI, subsidiary, said the dashboard is powered by Edetco Network and Planning Analytics (NaPA) to drive data-driven network planning across the state through data intelligence.

The effort complements Selangor’s broader ambitions, including the planned establishment of artificial intelligence (AI) centres next year that would serve as hubs for technological innovation,

“The Selangor Connectivity Dashboard will play a critical role in ensuring seamless connectivity and data availability for AI-driven solutions.

“By harnessing the power of data intelligence, Edotco and SmartSel are taking a significant step toward advancing Selangor’s digital future, paving the way for a smarter and more connected state,” it said in a recent joint statement with Edotco Group.

Launched by MBI group chief executive Dato’ Saipolyazan M. Yusop and Edotco group chief executive Adlan Tajudin, the cooperation reflects the commitment of both parties to leveraging data-driven solutions for enhanced connectivity infrastructure.

The partnership also aligns with Selangor’s digitalisation and Smart City strategies, which aim to strengthen digital infrastructure and accelerate smart city development.

Saipolyazan said the dashboard will enable the state government, via SmartSel, to make informed decisions with real-time network insights, accelerating connectivity projects to ensure stable and reliable access for the people.

“This, in return, will enable our people to enjoy uninterrupted digital applications and services more efficiently while strengthening the state’s gross domestic product through digital economic contributions.

“This partnership is one of our transformative steps toward making Selangor a fully connected, digital and Smart state, in line with the Smart Selangor Action Plan and State Budget 2025,” he said.

Meanwhile, Adlan said Selangor is the first state the company is collaborating with on such an initiative, which marks a significant milestone in shaping the future of connectivity in Malaysia.

Using data intelligence in infrastructure planning is essential, as the initiative will enhance digital connectivity and provide a reliable network for businesses and communities.

“As SmartSel’s data intelligence partner, we integrate real-time analytics into the Selangor Connectivity Dashboard to identify connectivity gaps and drive statewide network planning for digital transformation.

“We are very pleased to be given the opportunity to contribute our expertise here and hope to have the opportunity to do more with other states,” he said.
