SHAH ALAM, Jan 31 — The Selangor Forestry Department (JPNS) has announced that all ecoparks and hiking spots under its purview will reopen from tomorrow.
Among the ecoparks to be reopened are Sungai Tua, Sungai Sendat, Sungai Tekala, Komanwel, Kota Damansara, and Gunung Nuang.
Meanwhile, permitted hiking activities include trails at Bukit Jugra, Bukit Batu Pahat, Lubuk Kawah Waterfall, Bukit Boyan, Bukit Pau, Bukit Apek, Bukit Saga, and Gunung Hitam.
Hikers, however, are still required to apply for permits online through the JPNS website and complete the provided form at least one week before their intended hiking date.
In October last year, JPNS announced the temporary closure of all recreational activities in permanent forest reserves and eco forest parks under its jurisdiction from November 15, 2024, until the end of January 2025.
This is in view of the northeast monsoon season that has brought about heavy downpours and floods.
