SHAH ALAM, Jan 28 — The Negeri Sembilan government aims to explore agro-food management methods and gain insights into the establishment of the Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation (PKPS).
State executive councillor for agriculture Dato’ Izham Hashim said Negeri Sembilan does not currently have a specific PKPS-like body to oversee its agricultural sector and ensure food security.
“Today, we are sharing our experiences and expertise with them to help establish an agency or corporation similar to PKPS.
“God willing, this is just the first meeting, and there will be more collaborations in the future. We hope Negeri Sembilan succeeds in establishing an appropriate entity,” he said when met after a meeting between the Selangor and Negeri Sembilan governments, held during a courtesy call by a Negeri Sembilan delegation, at the State Secretariat Building here today.

The 17-member delegation was led by Datuk Seri Jalaludin Alias, who is Negeri Sembilan state executive councillor for agriculture, food security, and cost of living.
Meanwhile, Jalaludin said Selangor has a well-established, experienced body to manage food security and safety.
“Negeri Sembilan does not yet have an official body like PKPS, and this is a crucial issue that must be addressed for the benefit of the people.
“The discussion was extensive, and this collaboration between Negeri Sembilan and Selangor will help us establish the corporation,” he said.
