KUCHING, Jan 26 — A temporary relief centre (PPS) remained in operation in Sarawak to accommodate evacuees in the Tatau district in Bintulu, said the State Disaster Committee Secretariat.
The PPS at Rumah Steven accommodates 33 people, involving 13 families, who were evacuated on Thursday (January 23) when floods hit the area surrounding SK Kuala Muput.
Meanwhile, the secretariat also provided food aid to 165 residents affected by the floods in the Bintulu district and they were distributed through the Malaysian Civil Defence Force, the Social Welfare Department, the Bintulu District Office, and the Fire and Rescue Department.
The residents are from the long houses of Rh Alam, Rh Nyaing, Rh Jeffry Giri, and Rh Awang Inban.
