CYBERJAYA, Jan 15 — Malaysia aims to empower start-ups, facilitate collaboration, and drive the commercialisation of innovative solutions through initiatives like the Malaysia Startup Ecosystem Roadmap (SUPER) 2021-2030 and the MyStartup platform.

Science, Technology, and Innovation Minister Chang Lih Kang said they remain steadfast in their commitment to creating an environment that nurtures innovation and entrepreneurship.

Cyberjaya, as Malaysia's Global Tech Hub, and a key innovation sandbox, plays a pivotal role in this mission. The Cyberview Living Lab Accelerator (CLLA) initiatives exemplify this vision by bridging the gap between innovation and impact across various value chains.

"Since its inception in 2013, CLLA has been instrumental in empowering over 129 start-ups, securing more than RM263 million in investments, and generating an impressive RM837 million in revenue," he said.

Chang was speaking at the CLLA Cohort 19 Demo Day and the programme's 10th anniversary celebrations today. Also present were Cyberview Sdn Bhd chairman Datuk Romli lshak and its chief executive officer Kamarul Ariffin Abdul Samad.

He added that Cyberview, as the tech hub developer and ecosystem builder of Cyberjaya, has consistently paved the way for groundbreaking initiatives like CLLA, one of the earliest accelerator programmes in Malaysia.

"Innovation is the cornerstone of progress, and start-ups are the lifeblood of any thriving economy. Malaysia has made great strides in establishing itself as a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship, and programmes like CLLA are instrumental in achieving this vision.

"By providing start-ups with the resources, guidance, and network they need to thrive, we are laying the foundation for a resilient, tech-based economy," Chang said.

CLLA equips entrepreneurs with essential resources, including human capital, funding, mentorship, infrastructure, and market access, ensuring that they are well-prepared to succeed in an increasingly competitive landscape.

Today's event also celebrated the achievements of the Top 10 start-ups from CLLA's Cohort 19, which were selected from nearly 100 applicants following a five-month programme.

These promising companies have showcased groundbreaking solutions across various industries, from sustainable materials and healthcare innovation to artificial intelligence-driven platforms and Internet of Things advancements.
