MBI invites qualified companies to cooperate in developing smart parking

SHAH ALAM, Jan 9 — Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI aims to establish a parking management system offering benefits and convenience to the public.

To this end, the agency is inviting experienced and qualified companies to collaborate on developing a Parking Management Project (TLK).

“The selection of companies will be conducted through a Request for Proposal (RFP) process to ensure equal opportunities for interested companies.

“The RFP documents can be downloaded from www.mbiselangor.com starting January 8, and all proposals must be submitted before 12pm on January 22,” it said in a statement yesterday.

MBI added that the TLK system can enhance efficiency via real-time monitoring and availability, ensuring optimal use of parking spaces and reducing congestion during peak hours.

“This system will integrate technologies such as artificial intelligence and data analytics for more efficient operations. Through centralised management and automated payment systems, it will simplify operations and reduce costs in a more efficient and user-friendly manner.

“Additionally, the system will meet user needs by adding value through connectivity with other services like Super App applications and demand-responsive transit,” it said.

The smart parking management system will also support broader goals, including driving Selangor's digital transformation through data-driven decision-making.

“The integrated monitoring system enhances security by enabling incident detection and reporting while incorporating eco-friendly initiatives, like reducing carbon emissions, to promote sustainable urban mobility,” MBi said.
