SHAH ALAM, Nov 5 — The state government has taken selected entrepreneurs to the Malaysia Fair expo in Tokyo, Japan, to provide them with exposure and business opportunities on the global stage.
State executive councillor for youth, sports, and entrepreneurship Mohd Najwan Halimi said the participants include entrepreneurs under the Selangor Information Technology and Digital Economy Corporation (Sidec), who are also conducting market research during the programme.
“The purpose of the visit is to open avenues for Selangor entrepreneurs to explore business opportunities in the international market while simultaneously conducting research and market analysis.
“We aim to make the participating companies examples for other businesses to advance their enterprises and build international business networks,” he told Media Selangor.
The Malaysia Fair expo, held from November 2 to November 3 and organised by the Malaysian Embassy in Japan, serves as a medium to promote the uniqueness of Malaysian culture and heritage to the Japanese public.
Meanwhile, the Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority (Fama) said six small and medium enterprises from Selangor were brought to participate in the annual expo.
This initiative is part of its ongoing efforts to help agri-food entrepreneurs expand their markets globally and open alternative market opportunities.
“This is one of the initiatives to promote Malaysian products and increase trade value in the Land of the Rising Sun,” it said in a Facebook post today.
The Fama delegation included its director-general Abdul Rashid Bahri and Selangor state executive councillor for infrastructure and agriculture Izham Hashim.
