ISKANDAR PUTERI, Nov 4 — Selangor Red Giants (SRG) defeated Vamos 4-2 to defend their title in the 14th Season of the Mobile Legends Bang Bang (MLBB) Malaysia Professional League (MPL) at the EduCity Sports Complex, here yesterday.
SRG were lined up by Mark Genzon Sojero Rusiana (kramM), Muhammad Haqqullah Ahmad Shahrul Zaman (Sekys), Hazziq Danish (Stormie), Muhammad Qayyum Ariffin Mohd Suhairi (YumS) and John Vincent Banal (Innocent).
Vamos paraded Mohamad Zulhisyam Mohd Nor (Xorn), Muhammad Nazhan Mohd Nor (Chibi), Kenneth Sablande Barro (Nets), Aeliff Adam Md Ariff (Smooth) and Rizky Agustian (Warlord).
The first match saw Michael Bocado’s men or better known as “Coach Arcadia” achieve a 1-0 result in a best-of-seven format.
Vamos rallied to tie the 2024 MLBB Mid-Season Cup champion in the second round, but SRG dominated the match in the third and fourth games, leading 3-1.
Vamos fought back to make it 3-2, but SRG clinched the sixth game to lift the title and take home the US$25,000 (RM109,450) prize money, while Vamos received US$13,000 (RM56,795) for the runner-up spot.
Meanwhile, SRG’s Stormie was nominated as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) in the final and received US$1,000 (RM4,369) cash.
Both SRG and Vamos will represent Malaysia in the World MLBB M6 Championship scheduled in Kuala Lumpur later this month.
