SHAH ALAM, Oct 28 — Selangor’s success in surpassing its annual revenue collection target by October is a testament to the dedication and hard work of its people, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

He also attributed the achievement to the various initiatives undertaken by the state government to boost the economy.

“It was also driven by the opening of several new industrial areas and various development projects in Selangor,” he said in a Facebook post today.

Following this, Amirudin said he will be presenting several new initiatives when tabling the 2025 Selangor Budget next month.

These are specifically aimed at further driving economic growth and attracting investments to Selangor.

“May we all enjoy the prosperity of this economic success together,” he said.

On Saturday (October 26), the Menteri Besar announced that the state recorded RM2.218 billion in revenue collection as of this month, surpassing this year’s target of RM2.2 billion.

He credited this to Selangor’s economic investment environment and development, among others.

“This is our fourth year exceeding the target, as we collected RM2.7 billion last year, RM2.5 billion the year before that, and RM2.3 billion the year before.

“We hope to collect a lot more in these next two months, but we are waiting, as part of it involves land issues,” he said after the Selangor Deepavali celebration in Klang.

Amirudin is also optimistic that Selangor will achieve its incoming investment value target of RM55 billion by year-end — it currently stands at RM35 billion.
