SHAH ALAM, Oct 22 — The rehabilitation programme for children rescued from Global Ikhwan Services and Business Holdings (GISBH) Sdn Bhd charity homes is progressing smoothly, in accordance with the set modules.
Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais) director Dato' Mohd Shahzihan Ahmad said each module is tailored to the specific needs of the children, following a thorough assessment conducted by the state’s special task force overseeing the matter.

“We prioritise the children’s well-being. Before starting the modules, we approached them and assessed various aspects to ensure the programme reflects their current development.
“Based on our findings after conversations and interviews with them, we adjusted the modules accordingly. We want to ensure the programme is aligned with what they truly need,” he said when contacted.
Regarding the status of the children’s faith, Shahzihan said the matter can only be decided by the courts.
“So far, the rehabilitation programme is running smoothly, and we are fully focused on it,” he said.
Earlier this month, state executive councillor for Islamic affairs and innovation Dr Mohammad Fahmi Ngah announced that the state government had set up a special task force to oversee a dedicated rehabilitation programme for children rescued from GISBH shelters in Selangor.
The task force includes representatives from Jais, the Selangor Islamic Religious Council, the police, and the Social Welfare Department.
Others agencies include the Selangor Education Department, the Selangor Zakat Board, Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) ot MBI, and the Selgate Foundation.
