SUBANG JAYA, Oct 3 — The Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) has already begun planning and executing several measures to brace for the upcoming northeast monsoon.

Its Deputy Mayor Zulkurnain Che Ali said over 25 vehicle assets have been prepared by the local council, including rescue boats, four-wheel drive vehicles, trucks, vans, buses and Roll-On Roll-Off trucks.

“MBSJ is also streamlining and inspecting logistics, including machinery, rescue boats, tents and various equipment, as well as preparing temporary evacuation centres (PPS) in case of any disaster.

"I believe with all the preparations that have been made or are currently underway, the city and its residents will be more resilient in facing potential disasters in Subang Jaya," he said.

Zulkurnain was speaking at the officiation of the MBSJ Emergency and Disaster Aid Strategic Operation Plan Workshop 2.0, at the MBSJ Multipurpose Hall in Puchong Indah yesterday.

He added that a total of 60 PPS have been identified across the city, comprising schools, mosques and multipurpose halls.

"We are also conducting a disaster awareness campaign for communities in high-risk areas," Zulkurnain said.

The public is advised to contact the MBSJ call centre and quick response team at 03-80247700 in case of any emergency or if immediate assistance is needed.
