SHAH ALAM, Sept 27 — The Selangor contingent to the 2024 Para Malaysian Games (Para Sukma) in Sarawak has managed to achieve its target of 29 gold medals, a day before the Games conclude.
Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari shared the news, stating that the contingent has several more event to compete in where they may win more gold medals.
"InsyaAllah, with some gold prospects that have yet to be contested, I am confident that they will succeed in exceeding the Games' target this time," he said in a Facebook post this evening.
As of 11pm, the state contingent has garnered 29 gold, 42 silver, and 39 bronze medals in Para Sukma.
Highlights for the state in the 2024 edition include sprinter Ikmal Fathillah Abu Arqam in the men's 200m T13 (visual impairment) category and bowler Ahmad Nazri Hamzah in the TPB8 (physical impairment) category, both who won gold on Wednesday (September 25). The Games run from September 22 to September 28.
