KUALA SELANGOR, Sept 17 — Some 21 high-impact projects focusing on the economy, tourism, food security, social development, and community empowerment have been outlined in the Kuala Selangor Municipal Council Draft Local Plan (MPKS) 2035 (Replacement) (RTMPKS 2035).

State executive councillor for housing and culture Datuk Borhan Aman Shah said these projects are expected to positively impact economic growth and enhance sustainable development in the district.

"In this context, the planning within the RTMPKS 2035 (Replacement) Draft has identified four key planning pillars, formulating 40 development strategies and 147 development proposals.

"Aligned with this, the goal of boosting the economy of Kuala Selangor towards a resilient environment and inclusive community has been identified to drive development in this district," he said.

Borhan was speaking at the launch of the publicity and public participation programme for the RTMPKS 2035 Draft at Dewan Eco Grandeur today. Also present was MPKS President Mohamad Hanafe Basri.

Additionally, 10 new road construction proposals have been planned to ease traffic congestion, particularly in Puncak Alam, which will connect to several highways.

These projects are expected to facilitate visitors' access to tourist attractions in Kuala Selangor, especially in preparation for Visit Selangor Year 2025.

"Among the proposals is the connection of Persiaran Puncak Alam 6 to the East Coast Rail Line (ECRL) station, as well as direct links to the Kuala Lumpur-Kuala Selangor Expressway (Latar), the West Coast Expressway (WCE), and the Damansara-Shah Alam Elevated Expressway (DASH), to reduce traffic conflicts.

"This will help people reach various tourist spots, like Kampung Kuantan Fireflies, Bukit Melawati, and others," he said.

“Ini akan membantu orang ramai untuk sampai ke seluruh pelusuk kawasan pelancongan seperti kelip-kelip Kampung Kuantan, Bukit Melawati dan sebagainya,” katanya.

The RTMPKS 2035 (Replacement) Draft report will be displayed for public viewing for a month starting today until October 16 via the MPKS and PlanMalaysia Selangor websites.

Members of the public can also view the report at several locations, such as the MPKS Development Planning Department, the Selangor PlanMalaysia office in Shah Alam, and the MPKS Hall in Saujana Utama.
