SHAH ALAM, Sept 7 — The Selangor Platform Entrepreneur Training Programme (U-PLATS) Expand is helping Selangor Platform (PLATS) participants with the potential to market their products internationally.

Yayasan Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI head Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor said participants will be guided in expanding their businesses.

“PLATS will collaborate with other relevant agencies to assist our traders in exporting their products abroad.

“We will be heading to Japan for the Malaysian Fest Tokyo next month and will be bringing their products to explore opportunities to penetrate the market there,” he told Media Selangor during a recent interview.

On the U-PLATS Halal initiative, Azri said the collaboration with the Halal International School will guide traders in learning halal compliance methods.

“In addition to helping them obtain halal certification, this initiative aims to instil confidence in the public, especially among Muslims, to purchase from them.

“We are also focusing on entrepreneur development through U-PLATS Digital in collaboration with the Selangor Youth Community. The programme aims to empower traders with digital economy skills and knowledge,” he said.

Additionally, Azri said the second series of U-PLATS will provide free Point of Sale system devices to participants for 12 months to assist with business transactions.

“For this second series, there will also be a boot camp for participants to foster networking and exchange ideas and opinions about business.

“Every trader needs networking as it will motivate them to stay resilient in the increasingly challenging business environment today,” he said.
