SUBANG JAYA, Aug 20 — The Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) has become the first local authority in Selangor to offer a WhatsApp-based communication service for its residents.

The MBSJ WhatsApp Department, which went live yesterday, is an effort to improve the quality of service delivery to the city’s community.

The new service allows Subang Jaya residents to directly text 21 different MBSJ departments through the instant messaging app during office hours.

“MBSJ is confident that the WhatsApp Department service will help improve the quality of service delivery to the community, providing a positive impact on users in terms of time, energy, finances, and environment,” it said in a statement.

While the service is designed for general inquiries and communication, residents are advised to continue using the existing MBSJ Public Complaints Management System (SisPAA) for formal complaints.

This ensures that all issues are properly logged and addressed through official channels.

The move to introduce the WhatsApp communication channel aligns with the state’s broader push towards digitalising government services and smart city initiatives.

For more information about the MBSJ WhatsApp Department service, including the list of participating departments, residents are encouraged to visit the council's website.
