KUCHING, Aug 17 — Sarawak lawn bowlers made it a perfect three wins out of three to top Group T of the mixed team event with six points at the Arena Lawn Bowl today.
The Sarawak team of Awang Mohammad Sharszan Awang Nasaruddin and Nur Syurhaidah Asaral had no problems disposing of Perak 18-10, Pahang 19-7, and Sabah 20-5.
Sabah occupied the second spot with four points from a loss (to Sarawak) and two wins — 17-15 over Kelantan and 18-5 over Penang.
The Selangor pair of Alif Hakimi Ariffuddin and Nurul Ain Ibrahim showed they too could do what the hosts did in Group T by winning all three matches to top Group S.
They defeated Terengganu 15-10, Perlis 15-6 and Kedah 29-5.
Meanwhile, Terengganu bounced back from the loss to Selangor by defeating the Federal Territories 16-10 and drawing 13-13 with Kedah, taking the second spot in Group S with three points.
