SHAH ALAM, July 20 — The business digitalisation programme organised by Wanita Berdaya Selangor (WBS) has allowed BNG Homeware Hub's founder Nooraihan Che Li to market her products more broadly.
In fact, the 44-year-old said the home essentials business she runs through an e-commerce platform also helps other entrepreneur friends to make sales.
"The digitalisation programme organised by WBS has been very helpful. I am very grateful to Allah for giving me the opportunity to serve the community and make an impact on the community.
“Tell the world of entrepreneurs, embrace digitalisation, and you will expand your market with no limitations as long as you keep up with current developments,” said the recipient of the 2024 Usahawanita Icon's Award.
Nooraihan was speaking to SelangorKini during the Selangor Young Women Entrepreneur (Usahawanita) Icon’s Digital Media Incentive Programme Awards at the Mardhiyyah Hotel and Suites yesterday.
She added that her health issues, caused by nerve issues which resulted in movement constraints, were not a deterrent from making sales through digital business.
“Despite being in pain, sales continue with digital marketing,” Nooraihan said.
She received the award from state executive councillor for women empowerment and welfare Anfaal Shaari, who also presented her with a RM4,000 cash prize and a trophy.
The Young Women's Digital Media Entrepreneur Incentive Programme is an initiative of the Standing Committee for Women Empowerment, Family, Community Welfare, and Care Economy, through WBS.
The six-month programme comprises four phases, including basic training, advanced training, practical sessions, and competitions, with 302 entries received.
A total of 112 entrepreneurs participated in the programme and advanced training, covering various aspects, including content creation, social media marketing, graphic design, visual content, and e-commerce.
