SHAH ALAM, June 28 — Parents of children aged two to 12 who live in and near Kampung Tunku can bring their kids to a free health screening tomorrow.

Kampung Tunku assemblyman Lim Yi Wei said children in that age range will undergo body mass index, growth, and diet screenings.

The screening programme will be held at the Kampung Baru Sungai Way Multipurpose Hall from 8am to 12pm for children without physical disabilities who were born or currently live in Selangor, with parents or guardians who are Selangor voters.

“This is a state government’s initiative done in collaboration with Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Malaysia under the Anak Selangor Anak Sihat (Asas) programme.

“It is a long-term intervention to solve stunted growth issues that affect seven out of 10 Malaysian children.

“Those interested can walk in for the screening. The first 100 visitors will receive free boxes of milk,” Lim said on Facebook.

Last year, 1,825 malnourished children aged under five received nutritional aid under Asas.

The initiative aims to solve the issue of stunted growth and malnutrition among children from low-income families in Selangor.
