Rehda hopes for Malaysia Property Exposition to exceed RM30 mln in sales value

KUALA LUMPUR, June 21 — The Real Estate and Housing Developers’ Association Malaysia (Rehda) is targeting a sales value of more than RM30 million at the three-day Malaysia Property Exposition (Mapex).

Rehda vice-president Datuk Chan Kin Meng said the target was set based on sales of RM30 million raked in at the previous Mapex.

“The expo remains relevant as a one-stop centre for homebuyers to compare prices and attractive offers since its inception in 1998,” he said when met after launching Mapex 2024 here today.

Rehda will be showcasing 10,000 properties worth approximately RM9 billion at Mapex, in collaboration with its Selangor and Federal Territories branches.

Chan said the properties to be showcased are priced from around RM300,000 to over RM1 million, and are located around the Klang Valley, including Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Cyberjaya, Putrajaya, and Negeri Sembilan.

He said the expo will feature a “Green Section” to display iconic projects awarded green certification by GreenRE Sdn Bhd to raise public awareness of green and environmentally friendly property developments.

Meanwhile, the Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Ministry secretary-general Datuk Ching Thoo Kim said the government introduced the Green Technology Financing Scheme (GTFS) 4.0 with a fund of up to RM1 billion as a financing facility for developers to implement green projects.

In his speech, he said the scheme is open for applications until December 31, 2025, and offered government guarantees of up to 60 per cent on green technology costs, and an interest or profit rebate of 1.5 per cent per annum for the first five years.

“Among the improvements introduced through GTFS 4.0 is the expansion of the financing categories to developers building affordable green housing and charge point operators for electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

“The government still opens this scheme to green technology producers and users, as well as energy service companies implementing energy efficiency projects,” he said.
