SHAH ALAM, June 4 – The SA Central project, which involves revitalising several buildings in the city, is set to transform Shah Alam into a golden triangle, benefitting the local economy.
Selangor State Development Corporation’s (PKNS) chief executive officer Datuk Mahmud Abbas said the project, incorporating cultural and historical elements, will also be equipped with green technology as part of its sustainable development goals.
“This project will strengthen Selangor’s status as an economic hub. We are building various facilities, including libraries, cafes, and commercial areas.

“We will also provide a space to display antique or vintage items related to the state, and all this will be done by entrepreneurs,” he said during a press conference today.
Earlier, Mahmud signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MyDeco and Malayan Banking Bhd (Maybank), represented by its Community Financial Services Group Syed Ahmad Taufik Albar.
In April, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the revitalisation project, which will start at the end of this year, includes the SACC Mall, Plaza Perangsang, PKNS Complex, and MRCB Tower. It is expected to cost up to RM2 billion.
He said the project, which will be completed in stages over eight to ten years, will boost the local economy, as it is the state capital.
Selangor will also establish the Greater Klang Valley, a conurbation covering four city centres, with a RM2 billion budget.
The Greater Klang Valley plans to combine Petaling Jaya, Subang Jaya, Shah Alam, and Klang, potentially becoming the main economic hub in Southeast Asia and one of the top five in Asia.
