Youth views integral to Selangor's development plans — MB

HULU SELANGOR, May 19 — The Selangor government always takes into consideration the views of the younger generation, through engagement with youth associations and clubs, when drawing up development plans.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said this is necessary to better understand the needs and views of the group and to ensure the smooth development of the state, particularly during the post-Covid recovery phase.

“The concerns of youth, along with their views on the government, are always taken into consideration,” he said in his speech at the closing ceremony of the state-level National Youth Day celebration at the Pertak National Youth Skills Institute, here, today.

“This administration will not remain silent. Instead, we actively engage with the younger generation and conduct numerous dialogue sessions to understand their perspectives and anxieties.

“We want to offer new hope and address their concerns because we are confident that they are the future leaders of the state administration.”

Meanwhile, Selangor Youth Council president Datuk Imran Tamrin said over 2,000 participants took part in today’s celebration, which was held for three days since Friday.

Other than conducting over 20 programmes that aimed to build confidence, Imran said the event also offered 3,000 job opportunities through a carnival organised by the Social Security Organisation (Socso).

“All the programmes involved the cooperation of various parties, including Selangor Volunteers (Serve) and Selangor Youth Movement.

“We also gave recognition to youths as well as clubs and associations that have excelled in their respective fields.”
