LAHAD DATU, March 15 — The Eastern Sabah Security Command (Esscom) special team seized 3,178,120 sticks of contraband cigarettes of various brands worth RM4.13 million in a raid on a two-storey building at Jalan Tamoi Baru here yesterday.
Its commander Datuk Victor Sanjos said 400 small packs of salak tobacco were also seized.
"All the seized items worth RM4,137,474 were hidden in boxes and plastic inside the building," he said in a statement today.
Victor called for public cooperation to curb smuggling activities and urged those with information to contact the Esscom Operations Centre at 089-883181 or via WhatsApp at 011-63311072.
