SELAYANG, Feb 18 — Some 200 women entrepreneurs participated in a three-month digital marketing course to empower and enhance their capabilities in the business field.
State executive councillor for women's development Anfaal Saari said all participants were small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) owners aged between 20 and 45, with established businesses and their own products.
"This is a pilot project of the Digital Women Entrepreneurs initiative by Wanita Berdaya Selangor. The programme involves a RM230,000 allocation, and participants will be exposed to digital business knowledge, including financial management and effective marketing.
"Assessment will be conducted for all participants. The best entrepreneurs will be recognised as icons and qualify for business grants, in addition to receiving advice from relevant agencies," she said.
Anfaal was speaking at the opening ceremony of the Made In Kuang Carnival, held at Kompleks Penghulu Mukim Kuang yesterday.
She added that women entrepreneurs who wish to expand their product marketing should have business knowledge aligning with current developments to enable their products to compete effectively.
"That is why we want to expose this group to digital business. If they already have products, they need to market them through social media platforms like TikTok. This adds an extra element to promote sales," Anfaal said.
