SUBANG JAYA, Feb 1 — The Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) will provide 25 Ramadan bazaar sites this year, involving 1,560 vending lots.

The city's mayor Datuk Mohd Fauzi Mohd Yatim also mentioned a change in location from Jalan Prima 5/4 to Jalan Prima 5/1 in Taman Puchong Prima, to address previous obstruction issues.

"We are trying our best to provide a comfortable location for 1,167 traders and also visitors throughout Ramadan this year.

"With the strength of MBSJ's enforcement team, we hope everything goes smoothly and visitors cooperate and comply with the established guidelines," he said during the council's monthly meeting at its headquarters yesterday.

Fauzi added that briefings have been carried out with traders to remind them of the conditions and regulations which must be adhered to, especially concerning compliance with the standard operating procedures set by the National Security Council, the state government, and MBSJ.

"The briefings emphasised compliance with regulations, the best and effective food handling practices, recycling practices, waste management, and the efficient use of resources, as well as the best practices for successful entrepreneurs during the month of Ramadan.

"Visitors are also encouraged to bring their own food containers to avoid using plastic, and traders must ensure their merchandise is not left on the bazaar site," he said.
