SHAH ALAM, Jan 30 — The state government is in the midst of updating the status of Iltizam Selangor Sihat (ISS) aid recipients to ensure only eligible individuals benefit from the programme that allows them to get subsidised treatment at private clinics.
State executive councillor for public health Jamaliah Jamaluddin said the move also helps the state administration maintain the integrity and effectiveness of ISS.
According to Jamaliah, the review process involves two categories of recipients, namely members with a policy period that has surpassed two years as of December 20 last year, and those whose policy has not yet lapsed.
For policyholders who have exceeded the period, Jamaliah said they can submit a new application beginning February 1 if they meet the eligibility criteria outlined in the programme.
She added that individuals can update their personal information manually at the respective community service centre or via the SELangkah mobile app.
"The registration and approval processes for all new members will be temporarily suspended until January 31 to allow the implementing agencies to carry out information updates,” she said at a press conference yesterday.
The 2024 Selangor Budget has allocated RM35 million to ensure the continuation of the ISS programme, which allows policyholders to get immediate treatment at private clinics.
The programme offers each policyholder up to RM500 in financial assistance for basic medical care, including outpatient costs and vaccinations, at any panel clinic statewide.
