KAJANG, Jan 19 — The Kajang Municipal Council's (MPKj) old and new lineup for the 2024-2025 term are determined to take a step further in providing their best services to the people.

Council President Nazli Md Taib said he is confident the experience and commitment of both existing and new councillors will bring ideas and suggestions to address the people's issues.

"For this term, only four new faces have been appointed as council members, but with their previous experiences, we believe these appointments can bring innovation and improvement to MPKj's service system.

"By collaborating with MPKj's directors and staff, I am confident this year and the coming year will help the council excel in providing its best for residents," he said.

Nazli was speaking to the press after the councillors' swearing-in ceremony at Menara MPKj today.

A total of 23 council members took their oaths of office, with nine from Parti Keadilan Rakyat, nine from DAP, and five from Parti Amanah Negara.

Bangi Amanah Youth chief Muhammad Ramadhan Mohd Lotphi said he will focus on traffic issues and improving infrastructure in the Kajang and Bangi areas.

"Many issues require immediate attention, and as a councillor, I will do my best to continue serving the people," said the former Sepang Municipal Council member.

As for DAP's Tang Wei Yong, he said he will assist MPKj in addressing the people's issues, such as restoring infrastructure.

"I also plan to organise more youth programmes so the younger generation can fulfil their responsibilities in protecting the environment and understanding their rights involving the local authorities," he said.
