KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 17 — Puteri Umno has handed over a donation of RM185,000 to the Humanitarian Trust Fund for the People of Palestine (AAKRP) to alleviate the suffering of Palestinians who have been victims of the atrocities committed by Israel.
The donation, gathered via the Peace4Palestine fund initiated last October, was presented by its leader, Datuk Nurul Amal Mohd Fauzi, to the Foreign Minister, Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, during the courtesy visit of the youth wing to Wisma Putra yesterday.
In a statement today, Puteri Umno said a cheque for the amount was handed over to Datuk Zahairi Baharim, the ministry’s West Asia Division secretary, for further action.
According to the statement, Mohamad, who is also Umno deputy president, expressed pride and gratitude for Puteri Umno’s efforts in assisting the fate of the Palestinian people.
Mohamad hoped that more parties would come forward to provide assistance to the Palestinians.
