PUTRAJAYA, Jan 6 — The redemption period for the Kita Selangor e-book vouchers has been extended until January 31.

Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated), or MBI, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Corporate Communication head Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor said that since its launch in November last year, 62 per cent of the allocated RM200,000 for e-book vouchers has been redeemed.

He said the students mostly redeemed the vouchers to purchase academic and educational books.

“We have extended the redemption date from December 31, 2023, to January 31. The eligible students can still redeem, and I encourage them to do it as soon as possible.

“A significant portion of redemptions are utilised to buy academic books, meaning that the students are making good use of the e-book vouchers that the state government gave,” he said after the Parti Keadilan Rakyat (Keadilan) Wanita East Coast Post-Flood Mission here, yesterday.

Eligible students can redeem e-book vouchers and make digital book purchases through the link https://mall.bookcapital.com.my/, owned by the Book City Corporation, an agency under the Education Ministry.

On November 6 last year, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari launched the e-book voucher assistance for 1,000 Selangor tertiary students with an allocation of RM200,000.

Earlier, the Wanita Keadilan chief Fadhlina Sidek, also the Minister of Education, officiated the post-flood mission event involving various essential goods amounting to more than RM300,000.

The items include hygiene kits, baby items such as disposable diapers, formula milk and infant milk bottles, sanitary napkins, clothes, telekung, mats and food baskets that are donated to flood evacuees in Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang.
