IPOH, Dec 12 — Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli, who retained his portfolio in the Cabinet reshuffle announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today, is committed to continue implementing all the planned initiatives within his ministry.
He said that anyone entrusted with a minister's responsibility must prioritise serving the country because it is a trust, a privilege, and a burden.
“A minister has to focus on their job and give their best. If you are retained, Alhamdulillah, it means the plans you made are considered to add value to the government’s administration, and we will continue our efforts in the ministry.
“Even if I am asked to take on other duties, I usually choose to view it positively...that I can add value elsewhere,” Rafizi told the press after visiting the project site of the Farming Entrepreneur Initiative (Intan) under the People’s Income Initiative of the Northern Corridor Economic Region today.
He was responding to queries asking him to comment on his continued leadership at the ministry alongside his deputy Datuk Hanifah Hajar Taib, in the Cabinet reshuffle announcement today.
Anwar announced the appointment of five ministers and five deputy ministers, including four new faces, and the return of five former ministers in the Federal Cabinet.
The announcement also saw the number of ministers in the Cabinet expand from 28 to 31, while the number of deputy ministers increased from 27 to 29, bringing the total number of Unity Government administrative members to 60.
