PUTRAJAYA, Dec 8 — The Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry (KPDN) has smashed a syndicate involved in misappropriating subsidised diesel and arrested four men during Ops Tiris in Klang, Selangor.
KPDN enforcement director-general Datuk Azman Adam said 12,100 litres of diesel was seized during the raid at 2.30am on December 6.
"The syndicate used a modified bonded lorry with an additional Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBC) tank to buy subsidised diesel from petrol stations in the Klang Valley. The diesel was kept in an illegal store before it was distributed to the market in another lorry,” he said in a statement today.
He said two lorries and several devices used for misappropriating the diesel, including motorised pumps and pipes, were also confiscated, with the seizures worth a total of RM218,015.
The four suspects, aged 25 to 30, included two foreigners and they admitted to working at the premises.
He said during Ops Tiris from March 1 to Dec 6, goods worth RM88.88 million were seized and 638 people were arrested.
