GOMBAK, Nov 18 — The state government is actively addressing flood issues, especially in areas prone to flooding, by discussing it with the Irrigation and Drainage Department (DID).
Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said a comprehensive investigation is being conducted to determine whether the flooding issues are caused by the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) project or other factors.

"DID has been called, and I have asked them to return after the State Legislative Assembly session to review the flood mitigation plan in the affected villages, especially those which experience frequent floods.
"The report will be received within three weeks. I sincerely apologise and will thoroughly review and address the situation," he said at the officiation ceremony of the Madani Community Service programme in Taman Berlian today.
Amirudin added the state government is also fully focused on development along Jalan Gombak for the people's convenience.
"Jalan Gombak will be given priority over the next five years. InsyaAllah, we will implement it.
"We will not stop here but will continue because I am the Menteri Besar and Gombak's MP, and I will manage and improve lives," he said.
Recently, Amirudin announced that families affected by floods in Selangor would receive RM500 in financial assistance.
Additionally, prompt responses and feedback are being provided to aid in flood rescue operations and the relocation of flood victims to temporary relief centres (PPS).
