SHAH ALAM, Oct 18 — State executive councillor for housing Borhan Aman Shah hopes the 2024 Selangor Budget will provide substantial allocations for the coming year given the various planned initiatives for the people's well-being.

He said this aligns with the 12th Malaysia Plan's goals, which aim for Selangor to build 500,000 housing units.

"In addition to focusing on Rumah Selangorku, we will also address abandoned projects. Developers may require technical assistance, and we are trying to ensure that people have suitable housing.

"Simultaneously, we plan to renovate People's Housing Project (PPR) units through the Ceria Scheme. For example, upgrading elevators at once can improve the quality of life for residents," Borhan said.

Last month, Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari said next year's state budget is scheduled to be presented in mid-November and awaits the royal consent of the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj.

During the tabling of the 2023 Selangor Budget on November 25 last year, RM2.45 billion was approved, with RM1.25 billion for management expenditure and RM1.2 billion for development expenditure.
