SUBANG JAYA, Oct 15 — The Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) has set a revenue collection target of more than RM331.035 million for 2024, compared to RM315.035 million this year.
Its mayor Mohd Fauzi Mohd Yatim said for non-tax revenues, the local council is aiming to collect RM11.3 million in the coming year.
“Regarding estimated tax revenue, it remains the primary contributor, amounting to RM232.5 million, or 70 per cent of MBSJ’s total revenue.
“For non-tax revenues such as licences and permits, service fees, sales, rentals, interest, fines, and penalties, it is estimated to generate revenue of RM87.2 million,” he said in his address at the MBSJ 2024 Budget Townhall Session at the Saujana Hotel Golf Resort, here today.
Earlier, some 150 individuals, including stakeholders and residents’ representatives within the Subang Jaya administrative area, attended to listen and provide feedback on the local council’s 2024 budget.
Mohd Fauzi expressed his hope that the session would be used effectively to assist MBSJ in becoming a sustainable, smart city, a business hub, and an ideal place to live.
“We hope that the communication platform and feedback from the community involvement in this session will help MBSJ achieve its goal of becoming a sustainable city.
“Furthermore, it can ensure that the revenue is spent efficiently within the budget, enforcing stringent controls to lower the risk of waste and resource mismanagement in line with the Madani concept,” he said.
