SHAH ALAM, Sept 28 — Public leaders should lead by example and fully uphold the responsibilities that accompany their office rather than merely taking pride in their position and rank, said Selangor State Secretary Datuk Haris Kasim.

On the occasion of Maulidur Rasul today, he emphasised that leaders ought to emulate the example set by the Prophet Muhammad, who embodied his role as a leader with the utmost integrity, personal responsibility, and wisdom.

“A quality leader emphasises these added values, and from such leaders, Selangor can progress and prosper. Therefore, the Prophet’s noble character should be the icon of high-character leadership, always relevant throughout the ages.

“Each of us has responsibilities to bear, and those given responsibilities must be executed to the best of our abilities.

“The rank and position conferred (upon leaders) are not simply a source of pride, but are trusts that Allah SWT will question us on,’’ Haris said in his opening speech at the state-level Maulidur Rasul celebration held at Masjid Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah earlier today.

Also in attendance was the Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah, accompanied by other senior state government officials.

During the event, Haris also thanked Tengku Amir for inaugurating the MyRadha’ah System.

This online registration platform, pioneered by the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais), is designed to support breastfeeding mothers and their children by providing necessary assistance.

“Since its inception, the response to Jais' initiative has been overwhelmingly positive. So much so that it has set a benchmark for other state Islamic departments. This includes regions like Sarawak, Kedah, Negeri Sembilan, and Terengganu, which have turned to Jais for insights and best practices.

“Living in an age marked by rapid globalisation and technological evolution, Jais has harnessed its innovative spirit to refine the system. The goal? To offer a solution that is not just effective, but also intuitive and systematically up-to-date with the latest technology," he said.
