SHAH ALAM, Sept 23 — The state government will ramp up the promotion of eco and agro-tourism in Selangor's northern and southern regions starting next year, in line with Visit Selangor Year 2025.
State executive councillor for tourism Ng Suee Lim said this includes creating a three-day, two-night accommodation package in the respective areas, coupled with various activities.
"Next year, we will focus on the eco and agro-tourism segment in northern Selangor, as it includes the First Selangor Plan (RS-1) covering the Sabak Bernam Development Project (Sabda).
"Similarly, attention will also be given to the southern parts, where the main entry point into Malaysia is situated, followed by the central region, like Hulu Selangor," he said.
Ng was speaking at a media session and town hall meeting with Tourism Selangor staff, at Bangunan Darul Ehsan in Section 14 yesterday.
Earlier, the state government via Tourism Selangor, introduced the campaign Nak Bercuti, Pusing Selangor Dulu!, offering various segments to attract tourists.
Globally, the agency also launched the Splendid Selangor, Take Me Anywhere! campaign, and the two campaigns, launched in 2020, have since made a positive impact.
Ng had previously stated he aims to draw in eight million foreign tourists to the state as part of Visit Selangor 2025, while serving as the state executive councillor for tourism.
