JAKARTA, Sept 22 — The Malaysian and Indonesian militaries recently completed a nine-day airborne cross-training exercise known as Linud Malindo, as part of a joint military exercise in Karawang, West Java.
The 10th Parachute Brigade (Brigade 10 Para), represented by the 17th Parachute Battalion, Royal Malay Regiment (RAMD), participated in the training from September 12 to September 21, with six officers and 16 members.
The 328th Para Raider Infantry Battalion (YPR 328) of the Indonesian Army participated, according to Brigade 10 Para, with four officers and 16 soldiers.
Its Commander Major General Datuk Khairul Azmizal Ahmad Natal, and the Chief of Staff of Infantry Division One Kostrad Brigadier General Novi Rubadi Sugito attended the closing ceremony on Tuesday.
Linud Malindo is a bilateral exercise involving the Malaysian Army and the Indonesian Army, focusing on conducting airborne operations behind enemy lines to carry out strategic missions.
During the ceremony, Khairul presented the Malaysian Army Parachutist Wings to participants from YPR 328, while Novi presented the Indonesian Army Parachutist Wings to participants from 17 RAMD Para.
17 RAMD Para Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Andy Herman Rahimi and YPR 328 Commander Major Infantry Ardiansyah Okta Putra Siregar also exchanged plaques.
The exercise symbolises the maintenance of fraternal relations between the armed forces of both countries, Brigade 10 Para noted.
Brigade 10 Para stated that the drill represents the upkeep of friendly ties between the armed forces of both countries.
