SHAH ALAM, Aug 24 — Members of the public have been reminded to activate the contactless payment feature on their MyDebit, Visa and Mastercard so that they can use the open payment system (OPS) at select tolls on the highway.
On X, formerly known as Twitter, concessionaire Litrak Berhad said OPS toll payments can now be made at the Damansara–Puchong Expressway and the SPRINT Expressway.
Likewise, motorists can pay using their debit or credit cards at tolls along the Shah Alam Expressway (KESAS) and the SMART Tunnel.
In the case of KESAS and SMART, it is part of the OPS trial to test alternatives to regular payment methods like Touch N' Go, SmartTAG, and RFID.
During that time, a test lane will be open at the toll plaza, which will be indicated to drivers as they approach. They are advised to prepare their cards before pulling up.
As with Touch N' Go, users only have to tap their debit or credit card on the terminal in order to pay and pass through.
On August 2, Works Minister Datuk Seri Alexander Nanta Linggi announced the OPS for 12 selected highways, as part of the ministry's effort to provide new payment methods which are convenient for highway users.
Aside from the earlier mentioned highways, the others include the Pantai Baru Expressway, the Duta-Ulu Kelang Expressway, the Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Elevated Expressway, the Butterworth-Kulim Expressway, the Penang Bridge, the Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Elevated Expressway, the Sungai Besi Expressway, and the Guthrie Corridor Expressway (GCE).
He added that when fully implemented, the system will encompass 31 toll plazas and 81 lanes.
