KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 5 — The Police are tracking down three trainees who escaped from the Serendah Rehabilitation Centre in Hulu Selangor yesterday.
Two of them are from Asrama Al-Azim and another from Asrama Al-Hamzah, aged between 44 and 55.
Hulu Selangor district police chief Supt Ahmad Faizal Tahrim said the trio was absent during the morning assembly and left the centre without the permission of the facility’s head.
It is suspected the trainees climbed over a high barbed wire fence after the Subuh prayer and escaped.
“The police have launched a manhunt for them. We have blacklisted the trainees till their arrest,” he said in a statement today.
The investigations revealed the escaped trainees were undergoing rehabilitation at the centre.
“Police have opened an investigation paper under Section 224 of the Penal Code.
“Those with information are urged to contact the Hulu Selangor district police headquarters at 03-60641132 or investigating officer Inspector Siti Zulaikha Mohamed at 03-60641222, or any nearest police station,” Ahmad Faizal said.
