SHAH ALAM, July 20 — Several foreign aerospace companies are eyeing investment opportunities in Selangor, following a recent meeting at the Paris Air Show.
Invest Selangor Berhad chief executive officer Datuk Hasan Azhari Idris said the meeting included companies involved in unmanned aerial systems (UAS) technology, service providers, avionics systems, and flight simulation.

"They expressed their intentions to invest in Selangor. This is a promising prospect," he said when contacted, adding a follow-up meeting will be held to further discuss the matter.
The meeting with companies involved in UAS technology focuses on the use of drones for cargo transportation, and other aviation-related applications.
As for the service providers, the focus is on logistics and transportation, training and consultancy firms, and financial institutions.
"Aircraft avionics systems is the development of navigation systems, communication equipment, and aircraft surveillance systems, while flight simulation services are for pilot training in the region," Hasan Azhari said.
On November 30 last year, the state executive councillor for investment Dato’ Teng Chang Khim said the aerospace sector is continuously growing in Selangor, accounting for 67 per cent of the overall industry based in the state.
He said the four per cent increase from the previous year's 63 per cent is a source of pride and success in their efforts to strengthen Selangor as an aerospace hub.
