SPM 2022: 21 AADK clients get pass in all subjects taken

KUALA LUMPUR, June 9 — Twenty-one out of the 28 clients of the National Anti-Drugs Agency (AADK) who sat for the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) 2022 examination passed all subjects taken.

In a statement today, it said 13 of the candidates were from the Narcotics Addiction Rehabilitation Centre (Puspen) in Papar, Sabah, and the other eight were from Puspen in Seri Iskandar, Perak.

“All the candidates are currently undergoing the Institutional Treatment and Rehabilitation (RPDI) programme at the two Puspens.

“In terms of educational opportunities for clients, AADK provides a special module called the Client Education Access Programme (PAPK) specifically for those under the age of 18,” it said.

Through the programme, AADK said all clients who pass the SPM 2022 examination have the opportunity to continue their studies at a higher level at institutions such as the Mara Skills Institute, the Industrial Training Institute, the National Youth Skills Institute, GiatMara Malaysia, and polytechnics.

Via PAPK, clients will be taught by teachers appointed through the Malaysia Short-Term Employment Programme (MySTEP) Scheme, who have a bachelor’s degree and experience in the field of education, with the assistance of teaching staff from district education offices.

PAPK was introduced in 2015 to help students who dropped out of school while undergoing the RPDI programme at Puspen.

“This effort is intended to provide clients with opportunities to advance academically and all of them are registered as private candidates with fee payment rates based on the core subjects taken.

“The six subjects they take are Bahasa Melayu; English; Science; Mathematics; History; Islamic Studies; and Moral Studies,” said the statement.
