481 ‘sick’ housing projects identified as of April 30

KUALA LUMPUR — A total of 481 sick housing projects, 141 delayed projects and 112 abandoned projects have been identified as of April 30, the Dewan Rakyat was told today.

Deputy Minister of Local Government Development Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir said of the total, 20 projects involving 2,749 housing units with a gross development value of RM2.722 billion have successfully been revived.

“The task force for sick and abandoned private housing projects will continue to intensify efforts to diversify sick project detection methods, in addition to finding its cause and more effective monitoring method,” he told a press conference in Parliament today.

Akmal Nasrullah also urged the state authorities to join hands in finding a solution and address the problems facing sick and abandoned projects nationwide.
