SHAH ALAM, May 30 — The Selangor Pavillion at the Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair (KLIBF) 2023 has received nearly 20,000 visitors in the first three days it has been set up.
Selangor Public Library Corporation (PPAS) director Datin Paduka Mastura Muhamad said many visitors were interested in the Iltizam Selangor Penyayang (ISP) initiative after receiving more information.
“They were keen to know about several of the programmes offered by the state government, including the Rumah Idaman housing scheme, the Selangor Hijrah business loan, and incentives for daycare centres.
“We provide the information to the visitors and they are interested in the ISP programmes. This is why we set up Selangor Pavilion, for it to serve as a platform where we can channel welfare-related information to KLIBF visitors,” she told SelangorKini.
Mastura said that 200 packets of nasi lemak and coffee are also provided daily to attract more people to visit the Selangor Pavilion.
“This effort will continue until the last day of the book fair. In addition, we also organise other activities such as Russian language lessons, health care sessions and engagement sessions with writers,” she said.
The Selangor Pavilion featured at the KLIBF is open from 10am to 10pm, beginning May 26 until June 4.
