SHAH ALAM, May 29 – The special assistance under the Selangor Special Needs Children (Anis) initiative, which opened its applications on May 15, has received 1,800 applications until the closing date on Saturday.

Its department head Danial Al-Rashid Haron said that this signifies that many parents are becoming more aware of the assistance provided by the state government.

“The number of applications has exceeded the allocation of RM1 million, but we will oversee the matter and request the state government to increase the funds so that more people can receive this assistance.

“InsyaAllah (God willing), in the next three weeks, we will evaluate who is eligible to receive it, and priority will be given to those who applied early and are in more need,” he said when met at the Anis Symposium 3.0 at the Ideal Convention Centre (IDCC), here on Saturday.

The initiative includes assistance for food or additional necessities, purchase or repair of equipment and machines, and medications.

Subsidies for educational fees are also offered, including therapy or special classes, for those eligible based on a valid doctor's prescription.

The incentive offers a one-time payment with a maximum limit of RM5,000 per family.
