SHAH ALAM, April 28 — Some 6,000 units of Rumah Selangorku Idaman that are currently under development at several strategic locations in the state are expected to be completed by 2024 and 2025.
Permodalan Negeri Selangor Berhad (PNSB) chief executive officer Raja Ahmad Shahrir Iskandar Raja Salim said the construction of the affordable homes are located in Bukit Jelutong, Shah Alam; Bandar Saujana Putra, Kuala Langat; Cybersouth, Dengkil; Puncak Alam, Kuala Selangor and Taman Air Manis, Sabak Bernam.
“PNSB is one of the key players in constructing affordable houses in Selangor since 2019. We have completed a project in Tropicana Heights, Semenyih, involving 2,500 units.
“InsyaAllah (God willing), soon, more projects with approximately 6,000 units will be nearly completed,” he said when met at the PNSB Hari Raya Aidilfitri open house, here yesterday.
Ahmad Shahrir said that demand for affordable homes has been encouraging, especially among those who are applying to become first-time homeowners and newlyweds.
“Therefore, we would need to screen the applicants to see if they qualify. One of the terms and conditions includes that it must be the applicant’s first property and have a household income of less than RM10,000.
“The houses are priced at RM200,000 each with three bedrooms, equipped with air-conditioner, television and furniture,” he said.
In February, Menteri Besar Dato' Seri Amirudin Shari said that from 2018, a total of 65,000 units of Rumah Selangorku in the Idaman and Harapan categories have been approved for construction.
Of that number, 24,000 units are currently in the planning permission process while 6,500 units are being built. Some 2,400 units in Kajang and Bangi are already ready for occupation.
Meanwhile, the PNSB open house was attended by a total of 700 invited guests, including representatives from government-linked companies (GLCs), strategic partners, local authorities, and district and land offices.
The event also celebrated 50 orphans from Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak Yatim Darul Ehsan Malaysia and Rumah Kasih Harmoni Paya Jaras.
