Navy step up patrols ahead of Aidilfitri

KUALA LUMPUR, April 14 — The Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) has stepped up patrols in the country's waters ahead of Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

Navy Chief Admiral Datuk Abdul Rahman Ayob said RMN duties continue as usual 24 hours a day and there are several operations carried out across the country.

He said the patrolling of the ships on duty has been set to ensure that the operation is always running and will not be stopped before this Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

"It is to enable all of us to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri in peace and comfort. RMN will also join forces with other enforcement agencies to patrol the country's waters.

"I will also break fast with RMN personnel who are on duty and visit them on the eve of the celebration at five RMN stations off the coast around the South China Sea," Abdul Rahman said.

He was speaking to Bernama after visiting all divisions of the RMN headquarters in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri at Wisma Pertahanan, earlier today.

Abdul Rahman also advised and reminded the RMN fraternity to always keep themselves and their families safe while driving back to their hometown and to celebrate in moderation.
